How does DNA help fight crime? Police and crimminal investigation agencies use DNA to prove that a person was at a certain place, or with a certain person by taking samples and then comparing them with the suspect. DNA is like a fingerprint, or a person print – it is our most basic structure – and like a fingerprint – everyones is different. Not only do humans have DNA but so do animals and plants – in fact every living thing!

DNA tests that check for paternity – or who is your father, are called paternity tests. Using DAN or paternity testing can help police in cases if incest and fathers who abuse their daughters. Mostly paternity tests are used by fathers to find out if the child is really his child.

Finding your Father – when trying to find out who your real father is you will need to get DNA from him, and a sample of your DNA. The Dna test or paternity test will compare your results and you will very quickly find out if he is your paternal father (blood father).

The paternity test will not help to find father – but will tell you if he is your father. (Unless of course you father has records with the police etc.) DNA tests are relatively inexpensive – and the price of paternity test are dropping all the time. So, if want to test to see if he is my father then get your samples together and visit a large chemist (many do DNA tests and paternity test). You might want to visit firtst and let them advise you on how. If you steal a sample of DNA it can be considered a criminal offence.
